An act of real courage

Last month, the world lost a true hero in Rosa Parks. But as our editor, Emily, pointed out, you wouldn’t know it from reading today’s Canadian newspapers. It was fifty years ago that Parks refused to give up her bus seat, prompting her arrest, a reaction of outrage from the black community, and the birth of the civil rights movement. And yet, you won’t read about it in the Globe and Mail, the National Post or the Toronto Star. Michael Moore has something to say about it, but, well, duh. For shame, Canada’s dailies!
